Review: Nykaa Skin Secrets Turmeric + Coconut Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are surely a blessing for all the skin types with various problem areas and concerns, Nykaa recently launched their very own sheet masks and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them! As we all know, Sheet masks are a gift from the Korean Beauty treasure, however, these sheet masks are a combination of old Indian Beauty and Skincare Ingredients + Korean Beauty and Skincare Techniques.  Nykaa launched 11 types of masks that solve different concerns, I gave the Turmeric + Coconut a try and here are my thoughts:

The mask comes in a tightly sealed packet, there’s nothing fancy but they look vibrant. They’re travel friendly (Best thing about sheet masks!). They’re made in Korea.

Texture of the serum:

As the sheet mask has coconut extracts, I was very skeptical about it, as coconuts are thick and I wasn’t sure how my oily and acne prone skin would react to it. The serum was clear, light, watery and a little slimy! It went easy on skin and it wasn’t greasy at all. It seeped into the skin within minutes.

The sheet:

The sheet was very thin and clear unlike any other sheet masks I have used. It adjusted nicely on my face.

The key ingredients are coconuts and turmeric. Turmeric holds a lot of significance in India, it is soft, antioxidant, enriched with brightening and healing properties. Coconuts provide nourishment and hydrate the dull and dead skin. The detailed ingredient list :

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Alcohol, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Gotu Kola Extracts, 1,2 hexanediol, Chamomile Flower Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Turmeric Root Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Coconut Fruit Extract, Fragrance

Price and Quantity

You get 20ml of product for 100INR.

This serum has a very fading scent, it is not noticeable. I do not have any issue with strongly scented products, but this can totally work for people who do not like exaggerating aromatic skincare solutions!

What’s good?

Nykaa Skin Secrets Sheet Masks are Cruelty Free, Paraben Free and have Dual Benefits. Each mask caters to different concerns and areas of the skin. The coconut + Turmeric Mask, focuses on brightening and radiance.

Skin Type

There are no descriptions available on the packet and the site about specific skin types for this product, however this mask is a good option for people with Dry, dehydrated, dull or mature skin, as it is brightening and turmeric also carries anti aging properties.  If you have an oily skin, you can give this a try as the serum is pretty light. People with sensitive skin should consider a patch test before the application.

How to use

Gently unfold and apply on a cleansed skin and remove the mask after 10-15 minutes. Pat and massage the excess serum until absorbed.

There are 11 dual variants available in this range, you can get it on Nykaa and choose according to your skin’s needs.

My Experience and Recommendations

I had a nice and relaxing experience with this sheet mask, I have an oily and acne prone skin and my skin was really comfortable. I experienced no redness, itchiness or any discomfort, however if you have open/ active acne wounds, please refrain from using it as it might irritate your skin! The serum was light and clear, my skin wasn’t greasy post application. I enjoyed a boost of hydration and my skin was soft the next day too! The glow lasted for more than 12 hours.

You can use this mask for a deep hydration before make up application, it can also present you with a super dewy and glowy look! It is an amazing option for Dry, Combination- dry and normal skin types and can work for Oily skin types too!

Using sheet masks once a week revitalizes and hydrates the dull and tired skin, they help with large or open pores too.
