Korean beauty and skincare established their place in the Indian market and rose to an amazing following and loved popularity in a very short time, the dynamic skincare steps to sheet masks, everything focuses on deep hydration and nourishment of the tired and damaged skin!
Laneige, a Korean brand, recently stepped in the Indian skincare market and came up with some luxury treats for hydration and nourishment. Their skincare list includes sheet masks, sparkling toners and emulsions, creams, but one thing that caught my eye was a whole range which mostly introduced the concept of ‘hydration while you sleep’.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: The Concept
This range consists of a sleeping mask, an eye sleeping mask and a lip sleeping mask that hydrates and rejuvenates the skin while it rests at night.
I decided to try out the lip sleeping mask and here are my thoughts:
Packaging
Laneige lip sleeping mask comes in two quantities and packaging. The mask with 20gms of product comes in a glassy little jar and the mask with 8gms of product comes in a cute pink plastic container with a touch of luxury. The packaging is tight, sturdy, really light and travel friendly. However, the smaller version of this popular lip mask doesn’t come with a spatula which can make your finger tips messy during the application.
Texture
As the concept of a lip sleeping mask was pretty new to me, I assumed the texture to be of a regular waxy lip balm, but it has a very sticky and a glossy texture that glides on the lips perfectly and also looks like the gone nude glossy lip trend in the 2000s. As I massaged the mask on my lips, it turned into an oily and nourishing shield and the stickiness was gone, however it still carried the glossy glam without any hint of color. I expected a little tint as it has a very sweet baby pink hue!
Price and Quantity
You get 8gms of the product for 500INR, which is a little pricey as Laneige is a luxury k-beauty brand. The original size is priced at 1150INR for 20gms.

My experience/ recommendations
I have a knack of collecting lip balms and lip care and I have enjoyed different balmy textures and flavors, my experience with Laneige was good and very different, the texture, the fragrance and the results are convincingly amazing! An amazing 6-8 hours of moisture and hydration can surely be beneficial for the overall lip health. I woke up to hydrated, nourished, plump and shiny lips. The best thing about this mask is the texture, it stays intact on the lips until you rinse it off. The softness stays well for 4 to 5 hours, it doesn’t makes your lips dry and patchy after rinsing. According to the brand, it melts the dead skin cells away and reinvents softer lips, I believe it is true. After a regular use I saw the texture of my lips were smoother and softer with no dead skin cell debris. This mask can surely save your lip from a lot of wintery chilly winds and dry weathers.
My Tips and Tricks : When it comes to lipsticks, it is advisable to prime the lips before application. Matte lip colors can surely snatch the life away from the delicate skin, I like to apply a tiny amount of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask before using any lipstick. It ensures the hydration and locks the moisture in, making the lipstick application smoother.
