Review: Unloc Mixify Skin Serum: Anti Acne

Be choosy when it comes to Skincare and Products, I live by this rule as managing a highly acne prone and oily skin is hard. Weeks ago, I found my skin breaking out severely and I couldn’t find any appropriate reasons. I discovered my skin was dehydrated and I indulged in a lot of dairy in that following week, fortunately, my big bad acne scene took an exit but I was left with red deflated scars.  To prevent such sudden acne attacks, I kept my water intake in check and smothered my skin with some tea tree and Indian Lilac (nimtree) love.

I was already using tea tree sheet masks for hydration and decided to opt for a skin serum for a better and faster result, I came across Unloc Mixify Skin Serum Anti Acne and I decided to give it a try after a thorough research on its ingredients. I used it for a month or two and here are my thoughts:

Packaging

The serum comes in a 30ml light green, gleaming glass bottle with a white dropper. The packaging is tight and leak proof, but I’d not risk travelling with it since it is glass and not plastic. However, many serums come in costly glass packaging, so it isn’t an issue. You’re not supposed to store it in direct sunlight.

Texture

I expected the serum to be watery but after researching the ingredients and using it, I found it has a light oily texture that seeps inside the layers perfectly, but it is also very light and almost has a watery consistency. It has a slight herby scent which evaporates quickly after the application.

Price and Quantity

You get 30ml of this herby goodness for 499INR. It is pretty affordable, considering the other alternatives in the market. The serum lasts pretty long too!

Ingredients

The key ingredients of this serum are:

Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Licorice extract, Tea Tree Oil, Polyethylene glycol 400, EDTA, Water, DMDM Hydantoine, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Fragrance.

The serum is laced with the goodness of licorice, tea tree and certain acids, however it has preservatives that also act as an anti fungal and anti bacterial (Methylchloroisothiazolinone and  Methylisothiazolinone). I researched the ingredients and found out, they’re safe (if you do not abuse the chemicals) and used in properties that will not harm the skin at all, my concern was answered by Unloc.

How I use it / My Skin Type/ Recommendations / Experience

I have an Oily and Acne prone skin and it worked for me pretty well. I’ve been using this product for quite a long time before I decided to review it out. I felt no tingling sensation or any sort of discomfort while using it, even when I had a few active acne.

With a week of regular use, I saw a slight difference in my acne, they shrunk down and the alarming redness was gone, my active acne were pretty painless and they shrunk before reaching the protruding pus filled stage.

A month and a half usage of this serum faded the light scars and blemishes, it also provided a smoother and cleaner skin. I used it mostly in my PM routine by massaging my most pigmented and acne prone areas thoroughly after cleansing and toning.

The results are noticeable if used religiously and properly and they take time, you will not see any overnight difference however the skin feels a little cleaner and tighter.

I’d recommend using this product in your PM routine, as the skin rests well and the products work better and faster. Regular massage with 2 drops of this serum deeply cleanses, works on spots and slowly starts preventing acne.  The results are slow and steady. As Tea Tree Oil is highly anti fungal and anti bacterial, the serum works commendably on acne and is affordable.

In conclusion, this product embraced my acne prone and oily skin well without any discomfort and I’m on my way to my next bottle of its goodness. It can embrace dry skin well too! The texture is highly soothing and warm. However, if you have a sensitive skin, please do a patch test before using and seek professional help in case of any experience of discomfort.
