Review: Coco Soul Revitalizing Face Wash – Oily Skin

Cleansers and Toners are the only products that I frequently run out of on my skincare shelf, as a result, I have developed a habit of hoarding them. I trust gel based cleansers as they’re extremely gentle on an irritated acne prone skin and they do not dry the skin out at all. I tried out a gel based face wash from a brand from Sri Lanka and here are my thoughts after using it for three months regularly.

Packaging

The face wash comes in a tightly sealed plastic tube, however I’d not consider it travel friendly. I couldn’t find any minis on the website.

Price & Quantity & Skin Type

You get 100gms of product for 399INR and it claims to be for all the skin types.

Texture & Aroma

CocosoulTexture[1]

The texture of the cleanser is extremely light and runny, it’s a pretty yellow glistening liquid that has a sweet coconut-y fragrance. It is not overwhelming at all and fades within minutes. I find it calming, if you generally love the sweet aroma of coconuts, you’re in for a treat! All you need is a small coin size amount for your entire face. It is not very foamy and is gentle.

My Experience : Review : Coco Soul Revitalizing Face Wash

I had a pleasant experience with this cleanser. Coconuts are not considered as the best skincare ingredient for an Oily skin as it is extremely moisturizing and heavy, but luckily they work for me. I believe every skin is different and you have to know what works the best for you. It is more like a hit or miss kind of deal. As this cleanser is enriched with coconut oil, I was pretty confident that it would work out for me considering the gel based light weight texture and my skincare history. The cleanser is supremely gentle on the skin, I faced no discomfort on my existing breakouts. There was no tingling or burning sensation, it just glided on my skin smoothly.

The face wash didn’t dry my skin out at all. It leaves a moisturizing touch of softness after you pat your skin dry. I didn’t notice any greasiness. It also leaves your skin with a soft glow. I didn’t experience any pulling or dry patches, which generally comes after using a gel based cleanser. It doesn’t rips your skin off the natural oils but cleanses effectively. However, this cleanser isn’t strong enough to get rid of makeup as it hardly foams up, it is good for gentle every day morning routine where you just wash up your sleepy skin and there is no heavy makeup involved. It is gentle and soothing but not strong.

With a regular use, I just noticed a sheer softness on my skin. The cleanser doesn’t promise any magnifying brightness. My skin had no concerning reactions. I’d say it is a good every day cleanser but if I talk about the price, you can choose alternatives too. It’d work well for people with Dry/ Dry Combination skin types too as it is soft and moisturizing. If you have an Oily skin that doesn’t reacts to coconuts well, there’s no harm skipping this one out! Go for it if your skin is comfortable with coconuts or coconut oil infused products and if you’re looking for something natural and paraben free. Please do a patch test if you have an extremely sensitive skin.

You can get this cleanser on Nykaa.

Overall, my experience with this cleanser wasn’t bad at all. Do you prefer coconuts in your skincare routine? Share your experiences in the comments below.

    1. If you’re talking about the Faceshop 365 Herb Day Cleanser, both are different, The Face Shop is foam based and Coco Soul Cleanser is a gel based one. Coco Soul is gentle and good for everyday use, whereas The Face Shop is on a stronger side, I’d say it’s best for Oily Skin. Detailed Review will be up soon. 🙂
